Possible Causes
Dust bin not emptied regularly, Filters damp or moldy, Organic debris (food, pet hair) decaying inside bin, Vacuum used on wet surfaces
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before cleaning. Do not use harsh chemicals on filters unless specified by Cecotec.
- Step 1 – Empty and wash bin: Empty the dust bin and, if allowed, wash it with mild soap and water. Dry completely.
- Step 2 – Clean or replace filters: Wash washable filters with water and let them dry 24 hours. Replace non-washable filters if they smell bad.
- Step 3 – Avoid wet pickup: Do not vacuum liquids or very damp debris with a Cecotec cordless vacuum unless explicitly designed for it.
Persistent odor after thorough cleaning may require replacing the filter set.
