Possible Causes
Blocked floor nozzle, Clogged extension tube, Severely clogged cyclone filter, Failing main suction motor drawing excessive current
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch the vacuum OFF and remove the battery or disconnect the charger before cleaning blockages.
- Step 1 – Check for blockages: Remove the floor nozzle, extension tube, and dust container. Look through each section for clogs (hair, paper, dust balls). Use a long brush or flexible rod to push out debris. Do not use sharp metal objects that can damage the plastic.
- Step 2 – Clean filters: Take out the pre-motor filter and HEPA exhaust filter (if fitted). Tap them gently over a bin to remove dust. If the manual allows, rinse the washable filter with lukewarm water only and let it dry completely (at least 24 hours) before refitting.
- Step 3 – Inspect the cyclone unit: Open the cyclone separator and remove any compacted dust around the mesh screen. A blocked cyclone can cause high load on the motor.
- Step 4 – Test without accessories: Reinstall the dust container and filters, but run the vacuum without the floor nozzle and tube. If E2 no longer appears, the blockage is in the nozzle or tube. If E2 still appears, the motor may be failing.
- Step 5 – Motor check / replacement: If the vacuum trips E2 within seconds even when airflow is clear, the main DC motor may be drawing too much current. Access the motor by removing the housing screws and separating the body. Inspect for burnt smell or blackened windings. Replace the motor assembly with a compatible Clatronic suction motor module.
