Possible Causes
Failed motor driver MOSFETs on main PCB, Open or shorted motor windings, Faulty Hall sensor in brushless motor, Loose motor connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery or disconnect the charger before opening the housing. Avoid touching exposed PCB tracks while powered.
- Step 1 – Check for obstructions: Ensure the motor fan is not jammed by debris. Remove the dust container and inspect the motor inlet.
- Step 2 – Listen for clicks: When you press the power button, listen for a relay click or brief motor attempt. No sound may indicate a driver or PCB issue.
- Step 3 – Inspect motor connector: Open the housing and locate the motor connector on the main PCB. Ensure it is fully seated and wires are not damaged.
- Step 4 – Motor test (advanced): If you have a suitable DC bench supply and experience, you can briefly power the motor directly at its rated voltage to confirm it spins. Do not exceed rated voltage and current.
- Step 5 – Replace faulty part: If the motor runs on direct power, replace the main control PCB. If the motor does not run or is noisy/rough, replace the motor assembly.
