Possible Causes
Defective tilt sensor on main PCB, Loose sensor connector, Firmware misreading orientation, Physical damage from drop affecting sensor alignment
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before opening the housing.
- Step 1 – Confirm behavior: Run the vacuum on a flat surface. Slowly tilt it. If it shuts off and shows E8 at small angles, the tilt sensor may be faulty.
- Step 2 – Reset: Turn the vacuum off, remove the battery for 5 minutes, then reinstall and test again.
- Step 3 – Inspect sensor: Open the housing and locate the small tilt or accelerometer sensor on the main PCB (often a small IC). Check for cracked solder joints or board damage.
- Step 4 – Check mounting: Ensure the PCB is firmly mounted and not flexing excessively when the vacuum is moved.
- Step 5 – Replace PCB: If E8 persists and no mechanical issue is found, replace the main control PCB which includes the tilt sensor.
