Possible Causes

Worn power button switch, Loose handle wiring, Cracked solder joints on switch, Contaminated switch contacts from dust ingress

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery before opening the handle.

  • Step 1 – Confirm symptom: While the vacuum is running, gently move the handle (do not open it yet). If it cuts out, the handle wiring or switch is suspect.
  • Step 2 – Open handle: Remove screws and carefully separate the handle halves. Note the position of buttons and springs.
  • Step 3 – Inspect switch: Check the main power switch for signs of wear, discoloration, or loose mounting. Resolder any cracked joints on the PCB.
  • Step 4 – Clean contacts: If accessible, use contact cleaner on the switch (with power disconnected) and operate it several times.
  • Step 5 – Replace switch or handle PCB: If cleaning does not help, replace the switch or the entire handle PCB assembly with the correct Clatronic spare.
