Possible Causes
Firmware safety lock preventing operation while charging, Faulty charger detection circuit, Stuck charge detection switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Never attempt to bypass safety circuits to run the vacuum while charging.
- Step 1 – Disconnect charger: Unplug the charger from the wall and from the vacuum. Wait 30 seconds, then try to start the vacuum on battery only.
- Step 2 – Check charge jack switch: Some models have a small switch in the charge jack that detects when a plug is inserted. If stuck, the vacuum may think it is still charging. Inspect and gently operate the jack with a plug to free it.
- Step 3 – Inspect PCB around jack: Open the housing and check for corrosion or damage around the charge jack and its sensing circuit.
- Step 4 – Replace jack or PCB: If the vacuum always thinks the charger is connected (F7) even when it is not, replace the DC jack or the main PCB.
