Possible Causes
Faulty motor tachometer sensor, Damaged tach wire harness, Contaminated sensor area in motor, Defective speed control IC on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before opening the motor housing.
- Step 1 – Filter and blockage check: Ensure filters and airflow are clear; severe restriction can cause speed hunting. Clean as per manual.
- Step 2 – Inspect motor connector: Open the housing and check the multi‑wire connector to the motor. Ensure all pins are seated and wires intact.
- Step 3 – Sensor cleaning: Some motors have an optical or magnetic tach sensor. If accessible, gently blow out dust with compressed air.
- Step 4 – Replace motor or PCB: If F8 persists, replace the motor assembly first. If the problem remains, replace the main control PCB.
