Possible Causes
Motor windings overheating due to blockage, Shorted motorized brush motor, Failing main motor, Melted wiring insulation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately switch off the vacuum, remove the battery, and unplug the charger. Do not continue using the unit until the cause is identified.
- Step 1 – Check for blockages: Inspect and clear all airflow paths, filters, and the motorized nozzle. Blocked airflow can cause overheating.
- Step 2 – Inspect motorized nozzle: If the smell is strongest near the floor head, open it and check the brush motor for signs of melting or discoloration. Replace the nozzle if damaged.
- Step 3 – Inspect main motor area: Open the housing and look for burnt components, discolored plastic, or melted insulation near the motor and PCB.
- Step 4 – Replace damaged parts: Replace any burnt motor, nozzle, or wiring harness. If the PCB shows burn marks, replace the main control PCB as well.
