Possible Causes
Lithium-ion cells degraded from age and cycles, Battery protection circuit tripped, Battery not fully seated on contacts, Use of non-genuine or incompatible battery
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect the charger before handling the battery. Do not open the battery pack or expose it to heat or water.
- Check seating: Remove the battery and refit it firmly until it clicks. On click‑in batteries (V11, V15), ensure the latch fully engages.
- Fully charge: Place the vacuum on the charger for at least 3.5–4.5 hours (depending on model) until the indicator shows full charge.
- Test runtime: Run the vacuum in Eco/Normal mode. If it stops within 1–2 minutes repeatedly, the battery is likely worn.
- Inspect charger and contacts: Check for bent or corroded contacts on the battery and charger. Clean gently with a dry cloth.
- Replace battery: If the Battery warning persists and runtime is poor, replace with a genuine Dyson battery pack specified for your model. Dispose of the old battery at a proper recycling facility.
