Possible Causes
Pre-motor or rear filter removed, Filter not fully locked into position, Filter sensor switch or magnet misaligned, Non-genuine filter not activating sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not operate the vacuum without all filters installed; this can damage the motor.
- Refit filters: Ensure both pre-motor and post-motor filters (if applicable) are installed. Twist or push until they click firmly into place.
- Inspect filter seating: Check for debris or damage on the filter sealing surfaces that might prevent full engagement.
- Use genuine filters: If you recently replaced the filter with a third‑party part, reinstall the original or a genuine Dyson filter to ensure compatibility with the sensor.
- Reset: Remove the battery for 30 seconds, refit, and try again. If the warning persists with genuine, correctly seated filters, the filter detection sensor or control PCB may require professional service.
