Possible Causes
Aged lithium-ion cells, Repeated deep discharges, High-temperature storage, Internal cell damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not continue to cycle a clearly failing battery; it may overheat.
Steps to try:
- Observe charge time: A healthy Eureka cordless battery typically takes several hours to charge from empty. If it shows full in under 30 minutes, capacity is likely lost.
- Measure runtime: Fully charge the battery, then run the vacuum continuously on standard mode. If runtime is far below the specification (e.g., less than 5–10 minutes), the pack is worn out.
- Check for swelling or heat: Inspect the battery casing for bulging or hot spots. If present, discontinue use immediately.
- Replace battery: Purchase a genuine Eureka replacement battery pack compatible with your model. Avoid third-party packs that may not match the BMS logic.
