Possible Causes
Battery pack overheated from extended high-power use, Blocked cooling vents around motor and battery, Failing battery temperature sensor (NTC), Faulty battery management circuitry
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If the battery feels hot to the touch, do not attempt to charge or use the vacuum until it cools completely.
Steps to try:
- Allow cooling time: Remove the battery from the vacuum and place it in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight or heat sources for at least 30–60 minutes.
- Check cooling vents: Inspect the motor housing and battery compartment vents for dust buildup. Use a soft brush or compressed air to clear them.
- Avoid heavy continuous use: After cooling, reinstall the battery and use the vacuum in shorter intervals, especially on MAX mode, to prevent overheating.
- Inspect battery contacts: Ensure the metal contacts on the battery and vacuum are clean and not discolored or burnt. Wipe gently with a dry cloth.
- Test with another battery: If available, test the vacuum with a known-good Eureka battery pack. If the error disappears, your original battery pack is likely failing and should be replaced.
- Do not bypass safety: Never attempt to bypass the temperature sensor or open the battery pack casing. Replace the battery pack if it repeatedly overheats under normal use.
