Possible Causes

Clogged pre-motor filter, Missing or incorrectly installed filter, Severely clogged HEPA/post-motor filter, Overheating of main motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery before handling filters or opening the motor housing.

Steps to try:

  • Verify filter installation: Remove the dust cup and check that the foam/felt pre-motor filters and HEPA/post-motor filter are present and seated correctly in their frames.
  • Clean pre-motor filters: Tap the foam and felt filters over a trash can. If washable, rinse under lukewarm water until clear. Squeeze out excess water gently and air-dry for 24 hours before reinstalling.
  • Inspect HEPA/post-motor filter: If the HEPA filter appears gray or heavily coated with dust, replace it. Some Eureka cordless models specify replacement every 6–12 months.
  • Check for overheating: If the vacuum body feels hot, allow it to cool for 30 minutes before reuse.
  • Reset and test: After cleaning and reinstalling all filters, reinstall the battery and test. If the error persists, the thermal sensor or control PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
