Possible Causes
Dirty foam/felt filters, Contaminated HEPA filter, Debris stuck in dust cup, Mold growth from wet debris
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before cleaning. Avoid inhaling dust; consider wearing a dust mask.
Steps to try:
- Empty and wash dust cup: Remove the dust cup, empty it, and wash with mild soap and warm water if allowed. Dry completely before reinstalling.
- Clean or replace filters: Wash foam/felt filters and allow to dry 24 hours. Replace the HEPA/post-motor filter if odor persists.
- Clean nozzle and wand: Wipe the inside of the nozzle and wand with a slightly damp cloth, then dry thoroughly.
- Avoid wet pickups: Do not vacuum liquids or damp debris with Eureka cordless vacuums, as this promotes mold and odor.
