Possible Causes
Brush roll jammed with hair or debris, Worn or broken brush drive belt (if belt-driven), Failed brush motor in motorized floor head, Damaged wiring in nozzle swivel joint
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery pack and disconnect the floor nozzle from the wand before working on the brush head.
- 1. Inspect brush roll: Turn the nozzle upside down. Remove the bottom plate or access cover. Pull out the brush roll and cut away all hair, string, and fibers from the bristles and end caps.
- 2. Check for free rotation: Spin the brush roll by hand. It should rotate smoothly. If it feels rough or seized, the bearings or end caps may be damaged and the brush roll should be replaced.
- 3. Inspect belt (if applicable): Some Grundig cordless heads use a small drive belt. Check if the belt is broken, stretched, or melted. Replace with the correct Grundig belt if damaged.
- 4. Check electrical contacts: Examine the electrical pins on the nozzle and mating contacts on the wand/handheld. Clean gently with a dry cloth. Ensure there is no bent or recessed pin.
- 5. Test without load: Reassemble and run the vacuum with the nozzle lifted off the floor. If the brush still does not spin and E04 appears, the brush motor or nozzle PCB is likely faulty and the entire motorized floor nozzle assembly may need replacement.
