Possible Causes
Dust bin not correctly locked into main body, Broken bin latch mechanism, Faulty bin presence microswitch, Misaligned bin sensor magnet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery pack before adjusting the dust container.
- 1. Remove and reinstall bin: Detach the dust container completely. Inspect the mating surfaces and then reinstall it firmly until you hear a click.
- 2. Check bin latch: Ensure the latch moves freely and is not cracked. If the latch does not hold the bin tightly, the sensor may not detect it.
- 3. Inspect sensor area: Look for a small plastic tab or magnet on the bin and a corresponding switch or sensor on the body. Clean any dust buildup that might block movement.
- 4. Test with gentle pressure: While holding the bin firmly against the body, try to start the vacuum. If it works only when pressed, the latch or sensor alignment is off and the bin assembly may need replacement.
- 5. Replace faulty parts: If the microswitch or magnet is broken, replacing the dust container assembly or the small sensor PCB is recommended and may require a technician.
