Possible Causes

Cyclone assembly not fully twisted into locked position, Filter cover not latched, Faulty safety interlock switch, Misaligned housing tabs after reassembly

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery pack before manipulating covers or latches.

  • 1. Check all covers: Ensure the cyclone, dust bin, and filter covers are fully closed and latched. Many Grundig cordless vacuums have interlocks that prevent operation if any cover is open.
  • 2. Re-seat cyclone unit: Remove the cyclone assembly and reinstall it, twisting firmly into the locked position as indicated by arrows on the housing.
  • 3. Inspect interlock tabs: Look for small plastic tabs that press on internal switches. If any are broken or bent, the switch may not be actuated.
  • 4. Gently press on housing: With the battery installed, press and hold the housing near the filter cover while trying to start. If it runs only when pressed, the interlock switch or housing alignment is faulty.
  • 5. Service if needed: Replacing the interlock switch or repairing broken housing tabs usually requires partial disassembly and is best done by a technician.
