Grundig Brush Overload Under Load

Vacuum runs for a second and then stops when the brush head touches the floor.

Possible Causes

Brush roll bearings seizing under pressure, Debris wedged between brush and housing, Weak brush motor, Damaged brush motor gearbox

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery pack and detach the floor nozzle.

  • 1. Test brush off the floor: With the nozzle attached but lifted off the floor, run the vacuum. If it runs normally, the issue occurs only under load.
  • 2. Clean and inspect brush roll: Remove the brush roll, clean thoroughly, and ensure it spins freely in the housing.
  • 3. Check end caps: Remove end caps (if removable) and clean any hair or debris inside. Lubrication is generally not required; if used, apply only a tiny amount of light machine oil away from plastic.
  • 4. Replace nozzle: If the brush still stalls when contacting the floor, the brush motor or gearbox is weak and the motorized nozzle assembly should be replaced.
