Vacuum will not run, red fault light on handle, brief beep when trigger is pulled

Safety first: Switch the vacuum OFF, remove the battery pack from the handle, and keep the unit away from water or damp areas.

Step-by-step:

• 1. Remove and inspect the battery: Press the battery release catch and slide the battery pack out of the handle. Check the battery contacts and the mating contacts in the handle for dust, debris, or signs of burning or melting.
• 2. Clean the contacts: Use a dry, soft brush or a clean, dry cloth to wipe the metal contacts on both the battery and the handle. Do not use liquids or sprays.
• 3. Attempt a reset charge: Place the battery on the original Henry cordless charger. Ensure the charger LED comes on and leave it on charge for at least 3–4 hours. If the charger LED flashes a fault indication (refer to the charger label), remove the battery and try a different outlet.
• 4. Refit and test: After a full charge, refit the battery to the vacuum, making sure it clicks firmly into place. Turn the main power switch ON (if fitted) and pull the trigger. If E1 or the red fault light persists, the battery protection may be permanently latched.
• 5. Try a known-good battery (if available): If you have another Henry cordless battery, test with that pack. If the vacuum runs normally, your original battery pack is faulty.

When to stop: If the unit still shows E1 with a fully charged or known-good battery, do not attempt to open the battery pack. The pack contains high‑energy lithium cells. Contact an authorised Henry/Numatic service centre for battery replacement.
