Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery pack and do not connect the charger while inspecting. Internal electrical repairs should only be done by qualified personnel.
User-level checks:
- 1. Confirm battery status: Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly latched into the handle. Try a second battery if available.
- 2. Check for blockages: Severe blockages can sometimes prevent the motor from starting. Remove hose, wand, and tools and check for obstructions.
- 3. Listen for clicks or beeps: When you pull the trigger, note whether you hear a relay click or brief attempt to start. No sound at all can indicate a control PCB issue.
Beyond this point: Accessing the motor, start capacitor, or control PCB requires opening the Henry cordless body, which can expose you to live circuits and void warranties.
When to stop: If the unit still shows E5 after basic checks, arrange service. The motor unit or control PCB will likely need testing and replacement.
