Possible Causes

Clogged suction hose or extension tube, Blocked filter cartridge, Stuck or seized blower motor, Faulty current-sense circuit on control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery pack before clearing blockages or opening any covers.

  • Inspect hose and accessories: Detach the Hilti hose and any extension tubes or nozzles. Look through them for blockages (dust, debris, plastic, screws). Remove obstructions manually or with a flexible rod.
  • Check the filter cartridge: Open the filter compartment and remove the main filter (flat pleated or cartridge type, depending on model). Tap it gently outdoors to remove dust. If heavily clogged or damaged, replace with a genuine Hilti filter.
  • Check for liquid ingestion: If the vacuum is a dry-only model and has sucked up moisture, the filter may be saturated and causing high load. Allow it to dry completely or replace it.
  • Test without hose: Reinstall the battery and briefly run the vacuum without hose or accessories. If it runs normally, the blockage was in the hose or nozzle.
  • If E2 persists with clear airflow: The motor may be partially seized or the control PCB’s current-sense circuit may be faulty. Continued use can damage the motor; have the motor and PCB tested and replaced by a service center.
