Possible Causes
Shorted motor windings, Pinched motor wires inside housing, Conductive dust bridging terminals, Failed output MOSFET on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery immediately. Do not repeatedly attempt to start the tool; this can damage electronics.
- External cleaning: Blow out dust from vents and around the motor area using compressed air. Fine metallic dust can cause shorts.
- Check for recent metal dust exposure: If the vacuum was used to pick up metal filings, internal contamination is likely. Avoid this use in the future unless the model is rated and properly filtered.
- Do not open motor compartment without training: Internal inspection of motor wiring and PCB should be done by a qualified technician.
- Service required: A persistent short-circuit indication means the motor or power electronics must be tested and replaced as needed.
