Battery or charger becomes excessively hot during charging

Safety: If the battery or charger is too hot to touch comfortably, unplug immediately and allow to cool. Do not cover the charger or battery while charging.

• Charge in cool area: Move the charger to a well-ventilated, room-temperature location.
• Observe next charge: After cooling, attempt to charge again while monitoring temperature.
• Replace suspect component: If overheating recurs, replace the battery pack first. If a new battery also overheats, replace the charger.
• Do not use damaged parts: Discontinue use of any battery or charger that shows signs of melting, swelling, or burning smell.
