Hoover H-Free
Intermittent Connection in Wand or Floorhead
Brush bar intermittently stops while vacuuming, especially when moving the wand
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Broken wire inside wand, Loose connector between wand and floorhead, Worn contact pins, Cracked PCB in floorhead
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Remove the battery before inspecting electrical connections.
- Wiggle test: With the vacuum assembled and running (battery fitted), gently move the wand and floorhead up and down. If the brush cuts in and out, there is an intermittent connection. Then remove the battery before further work.
- Inspect connectors: Check all plug-in joints for looseness or visible damage. Clean contacts with a dry cloth.
- Try direct connection: Connect the floorhead directly to the handheld unit (if design allows). If the brush runs reliably, the wand is faulty.
- Replace faulty part: Replace the Hoover H-Free wand assembly or motorised floorhead depending on which component fails the tests.
