Possible Causes

Blocked airflow in wand or floorhead, Full dust bin restricting airflow, Clogged pre-motor filter, Clogged post-motor filter

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Switch OFF and remove the battery. Allow the unit to cool for at least 30 minutes before further use.

  • Empty the bin: Remove the dust container and empty it completely. Tap gently to dislodge compacted dust. Do not overfill beyond the MAX line.
  • Check for blockages: Detach the wand and floorhead. Look through the wand and nozzle for obstructions (toys, tissue, hair clumps). Remove any blockage with a long, non-sharp object.
  • Clean pre-motor filter: Remove the pre-motor filter from the dust bin assembly (usually a foam or fabric filter). Tap off dust into a bin. If washable, rinse under lukewarm water until clear, then air-dry for at least 24 hours before refitting. Never refit a damp filter.
  • Clean post-motor filter: Access the exhaust/post-motor filter (often behind a rear grille). Tap off dust or replace if heavily soiled or damaged.
  • Reassemble and test: Once all parts are completely dry and reassembled, refit the battery and test. If E3 recurs quickly with clean filters and no blockages, the main motor may be failing and should be replaced by a technician.
