Possible Causes

Hair or string wrapped around brush bar, Debris jammed in side bearings, Worn or seized brush bar end caps, Faulty brush bar motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn OFF the vacuum and remove the battery before working on the brush bar.

  • Remove the brush bar: Lay the floorhead upside down. Release the brush bar using the side latch or coin slot. Pull the brush bar out carefully.
  • Clear all obstructions: Cut away hair and string with scissors, avoiding the bristles. Remove any debris from the brush channel and around the end caps.
  • Check end caps and bearings: Rotate the end caps by hand. They should spin freely without grinding. If stiff, cracked, or melted, replace the brush bar assembly.
  • Inspect drive belt (if visible): Some H-Free heads use an internal belt. If accessible, check for a broken or slipped belt. Replace the floorhead if the belt is not user-serviceable.
  • Test the head: Refit the brush bar, ensuring it clicks into place. Reattach the floorhead, refit the battery, and test. If the brush still will not rotate and the LED continues to flash, the brush motor or internal PCB is likely faulty; replace the complete motorised floorhead.
