Possible Causes
Damaged wiring in wand, Loose electrical connector between wand and floorhead, Dirty or bent contact pins, Faulty PCB in floorhead
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Remove the battery before inspecting electrical connections.
- Inspect contact pins: Check the electrical contacts at the base of the main unit, at both ends of the wand, and on the floorhead. Look for bent, recessed, or corroded pins. Clean gently with a dry cloth.
- Check wand cable: Flex the wand gently along its length. If the brush cuts in and out when the wand is moved, the internal cable may be broken.
- Reseat connections: Firmly reconnect the wand to the main unit and the floorhead until you hear a positive click.
- Test with another tool: If you have another motorised tool (mini turbo brush), connect it directly to the main unit. If it works, the main wand or floorhead is faulty. If it also fails, the main unit output or PCB may be at fault.
- Replace faulty component: Replace the Hoover H-Free wand assembly if the internal wiring is intermittent, or replace the motorised floorhead if only that tool fails.
