Possible Causes
Multiple unresolved previous errors, Firmware lock after repeated overheating, Internal self-test failure on startup
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Ensure the unit is cool and disconnected from the charger before troubleshooting.
- Full reset: Remove the battery for at least 10 minutes. Press and hold the trigger for 10 seconds (with battery removed) to discharge residual power. Refit the battery and test.
- Resolve underlying issues: Check for blockages, clean filters, and ensure the brush bar is free and the battery is fully charged. Many lockouts are triggered by repeated overheating or overload.
- Check for liquid damage: If the vacuum was used to pick up liquids or very fine dust without filters, internal sensors may be damaged.
- Firmware/PCB replacement: If F6 persists after a full reset and basic checks, the main PCB or firmware is likely corrupted. Contact Hoover service for board replacement.
