Possible Causes
Dust sensor window blocked by fine dust, Sensor wiring loose on main PCB, Faulty optical dust sensor, Excessive fine dust bypassing filters
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum and remove the battery before cleaning internal sensor areas.
- Clean dust bin and cyclone: Remove the bin and cyclone assembly. Thoroughly clean all clear plastic surfaces, especially any small windows or slots where a sensor may be located. Use a dry cloth or slightly damp cloth (then dry completely).
- Check filters: Ensure pre‑motor and HEPA filters are installed correctly and not torn. Damaged filters can allow fine dust to coat sensors.
- Inspect sensor area: Some Insignia models place a dust sensor near the air outlet of the cyclone. Gently clean around this area; do not poke into sensor holes with sharp objects.
- Test operation: Reassemble and test. If E11 persists but the vacuum otherwise works, the sensor or its wiring may be faulty. The unit can often still be used, but automatic suction adjustment features may not function correctly.
