Possible Causes
Blocked airflow at intake or exhaust, Severely clogged HEPA exhaust filter, Dust buildup around motor cooling vents, Failing motor with increased friction
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum, remove the battery, and allow the unit to cool for at least 30 minutes before inspection.
- Check all airflow paths: Remove the dust bin and inspect the cyclone assembly, inlet, and outlet ports. Clear any compacted dust or debris.
- Clean or replace filters: Remove the pre‑motor filter and the HEPA exhaust filter (usually located at the rear or top of the main body). Tap both gently to remove loose dust. If the manual states they are washable, rinse with cool water only and let them dry completely (24 hours) before reinstalling. Replace if heavily stained or damaged.
- Inspect motor vents: Look for dust buildup around the motor housing vents. Use a soft brush or compressed air (short bursts, from a distance) to clear dust without forcing it deeper.
- Test in short intervals: Reinstall the battery and run the vacuum for 1–2 minutes. If E3 reappears quickly with clean filters and clear airflow, the motor’s internal thermal sensor may be tripping due to a failing motor.
- Stop if burning smell persists: Continued use with a hot or burning smell can cause permanent damage. Replace the motor assembly or contact a technician.
