Possible Causes
Non‑original or incompatible battery pack, Damaged battery ID pin or data line, Faulty battery BMS board, Damaged battery connector on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before inspecting connectors. Do not attempt to probe internal battery circuits.
- Verify battery type: Ensure you are using an Insignia‑branded battery pack designed for your specific cordless vacuum model. Third‑party packs may not communicate correctly.
- Inspect terminals: Check the small center or side pins (ID/data pins) on the battery and vacuum. Look for bent, recessed, or contaminated contacts. Gently straighten bent pins with non‑metallic tools.
- Clean contacts: Wipe contacts with a dry, lint‑free cloth. Do not use water or solvents.
- Test with another battery (if possible): If another genuine Insignia battery works, the original battery’s BMS is likely faulty and the pack should be replaced.
- Main PCB issue: If no battery is recognized, the main PCB’s battery interface may be damaged and will require board replacement.
