Possible Causes
Battery too cold, Battery too hot from recent charging or use, Faulty temperature sensor in battery pack, Damaged thermistor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not operate or charge the vacuum if the battery feels very hot or very cold to the touch.
- Normalize temperature: Bring the vacuum and battery indoors to room temperature (20–25°C / 68–77°F). Let it sit unplugged for at least 1 hour.
- Avoid direct heat: Do not place the battery near heaters or in direct sunlight to warm it. Allow it to warm or cool naturally.
- Retry operation: After the rest period, reinstall the battery and attempt to power on. If E9 clears, resume normal use but avoid extreme temperatures.
- Persistent E9: If the error remains at room temperature, the battery’s internal temperature sensor or wiring may be faulty. Replace the battery pack with a genuine Insignia replacement.
