Possible Causes
Stuck mode button, Contaminated button contacts on PCB, Damaged flex ribbon from control panel, Faulty LED/mode control IC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Remove the battery before opening the control panel.
- Check buttons: Press each mode button several times. They should move freely and return fully. If sticky, clean around them with a slightly damp cloth (no solvents).
- Blow out debris: Use compressed air to remove dust from around the buttons and control panel.
- Open control panel: If accessible, remove the screws and gently lift the panel. Inspect the flex ribbon and connectors for damage or looseness.
- Clean contacts: Lightly clean the button contact pads on the PCB with isopropyl alcohol and a lint‑free swab.
- Replace panel/PCB: If the buttons still do not register correctly, replace the control panel PCB or main PCB, depending on design.
