Parkside
Contaminated Filters / Dust Bin Odor
Vacuum leaves a bad or musty smell when running
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Dirty pre‑motor filter, Saturated HEPA filter, Dust bin not cleaned regularly, Moist debris causing mold growth
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Remove the battery before cleaning. Avoid inhaling dust.
- Empty and wash bin: Remove the dust container and wash it with mild soap and warm water. Dry completely before reinstalling.
- Clean or replace filters: Wash washable filters with lukewarm water only. Replace non‑washable HEPA filters if they smell or are heavily soiled.
- Check for moisture: Do not vacuum wet materials with a dry Parkside cordless vacuum. If moisture entered, allow all parts to dry thoroughly.
- Deodorize: After cleaning, run the vacuum briefly with a clean filter to clear residual odor. Avoid using powders or fragrances inside the vacuum as they can clog filters.
