Philips
Battery Gauge Calibration Error
Cordless vacuum battery indicator shows full but runtime is inconsistent
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Battery not fully cycled, Software miscalculation of remaining capacity, Aging battery cells, Faulty fuel gauge IC in battery pack
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use the vacuum in a safe area while performing calibration, as it may stop unexpectedly.
- Step 1 – Full charge: Charge the vacuum until the indicator shows full, then leave it on the charger for 1–2 hours.
- Step 2 – Full discharge: Run the vacuum continuously on normal mode until it stops by itself.
- Step 3 – Repeat once: Perform one more full charge and discharge cycle to help recalibrate the gauge.
- Step 4 – Evaluate: If the indicator remains inaccurate or runtime is still erratic, the battery pack may be aging or the gauge IC faulty. Replace the battery pack.
