Philips
Battery Capacity Degradation
Cordless vacuum runs for only a few minutes then stops, even after full charge
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Aged Li-ion cells with reduced capacity, Battery pack stored for long periods fully discharged, Frequent high-power use without full charging, Internal cell imbalance
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not open the battery pack. Handle the pack carefully and avoid dropping it.
- Step 1 – Confirm full charge: Charge the vacuum until the indicator shows full, then leave it on the charger for an extra hour.
- Step 2 – Measure runtime: Run the vacuum continuously on normal mode and time the runtime. Compare with the specification in the user manual.
- Step 3 – Repeat cycle: Perform one more full charge and discharge cycle to see if runtime improves slightly.
- Step 4 – Replace battery: If runtime remains significantly below spec, replace the Li-ion battery pack with a genuine Philips replacement.
