Possible Causes
Clogged pre-motor filter, Blocked cyclone assembly, Restricted exhaust HEPA filter, Failing motor cooling fan or dust buildup around motor housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum and remove the battery or ensure it is switched off. Allow the unit to cool for at least 30 minutes before further checks.
- Step 1 – Empty dust container: Remove the dust bin and empty it completely. Tap gently to dislodge fine dust.
- Step 2 – Clean pre-motor filter: Take out the foam or fabric pre-motor filter. Tap it over a trash can to remove dust. If the manual allows, rinse with lukewarm water only, then let it dry completely (at least 24 hours) before reinstalling.
- Step 3 – Check cyclone and air paths: Inspect the cyclone cone and inlet/outlet ports for compacted dust. Use a soft brush to clean. Do not use sharp tools that could damage plastic parts.
- Step 4 – Clean exhaust/HEPA filter: Remove the rear exhaust or HEPA filter. Tap gently to remove dust. Replace if heavily clogged or damaged.
- Step 5 – Inspect motor vents: Look for dust buildup around the motor vents and housing. Use a dry brush or compressed air (short bursts, from a distance) to clear vents.
- Step 6 – Test again: Reassemble and run the vacuum on low power first. If E3 reappears quickly, the thermal sensor or motor windings may be failing and the motor assembly should be replaced.
