Possible Causes

Brush roll jammed with hair or string, Worn brush roll end bearings, Faulty brush motor in floor nozzle, Damaged wiring in swivel neck or nozzle connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum and remove the battery or ensure it is switched off. Detach the motorized floor nozzle before working on it.

  • Step 1 – Remove brush roll: Open the brush roll cover (usually via clips or a coin screw). Take out the brush roll.
  • Step 2 – Clear obstructions: Cut away hair, threads, and fibers from the brush roll and end caps. Ensure both ends spin freely.
  • Step 3 – Inspect nozzle housing: Check the side channels and air path in the nozzle for debris that could jam the brush.
  • Step 4 – Check electrical contacts: Inspect the metal contacts between the nozzle and main body for dirt or burning. Clean gently with a dry cloth.
  • Step 5 – Test brush motor: Reinstall the brush roll and reconnect the nozzle. Turn the vacuum on and toggle the brush function (if available). If E4 persists and the brush does not move, the brush motor or internal wiring is likely faulty and the entire motorized floor nozzle should be replaced.
