E8
Philips
Airflow Sensor Fault / Blocked Air Path Detection
Cordless vacuum shows E8 and suction is very weak even with clean bin
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Severely clogged HEPA exhaust filter, Blocked internal ducting near cyclone, Faulty airflow or pressure sensor on main PCB, Misfitted dust container or seals leaking
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum and remove the battery or ensure it is switched off before disassembly.
- Step 1 – Re-seat dust container: Remove and reinstall the dust bin, ensuring it clicks firmly into place and that all rubber seals are seated correctly.
- Step 2 – Clean or replace HEPA filter: Remove the exhaust/HEPA filter. Tap gently to remove dust. If heavily grey or damaged, replace with a genuine Philips HEPA filter.
- Step 3 – Inspect internal ducts: With the bin removed, look into the inlet and outlet ducts for compacted dust or foreign objects. Use a soft brush to clear.
- Step 4 – Check seals and gaskets: Inspect the rubber seals around the cyclone, bin, and filter frame. Replace any that are torn or deformed.
- Step 5 – Test suction: Reassemble and test on low and high power. If E8 persists and suction remains weak, the airflow sensor or main PCB may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
