Possible Causes
Brush roller jammed with hair, blocked airflow causing motor overheat, slipping belt generating friction heat, failing motor windings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately switch off the vacuum and remove the battery. Do not continue using the unit until the cause is found.
- Check for jams: Inspect the brush roller and remove any hair or string. Ensure the roller spins freely.
- Clear blockages: Check the wand, nozzle, and bin inlet for clogs that could overwork the motor.
- Inspect belt (if present): Look for melted or deformed belt material. Replace the belt if it shows signs of overheating.
- Smell source: With the covers removed (battery out), smell near the suction motor and brush motor. A strong electrical smell from a motor indicates internal damage; the motor assembly should be replaced.
- Test briefly: After clearing issues and reassembling, run the vacuum for a short period while monitoring for smell. If it returns quickly, discontinue use and have the motor and PCB inspected professionally.
