Possible Causes
Overheating due to partial blockage, failing thermal protector on motor, loose battery connection, intermittent wiring harness connection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before inspecting wiring or motor.
- Check airflow: Clean filters and clear any blockages in the wand, nozzle, and bin. Restricted airflow is the most common cause of thermal trips.
- Inspect vents: Ensure all cooling vents on the body are free of dust and lint.
- Check battery fit: Confirm the battery locks firmly in place. If it feels loose, inspect the latch and contacts; replace the battery or housing if worn.
- Wiggle test: With the vacuum running (battery in), gently move the handle and body. If it cuts out when flexed, a wiring harness or PCB connection may be loose and should be inspected and reseated by a technician.
- Motor thermal protector: If shutdowns occur even with clear airflow and cool housing, the motor's thermal protector may be overly sensitive or failing, requiring motor replacement.
