Possible Causes
Shorted brush motor, damaged wiring in power head, partially shorted suction motor windings, pinched cable in pivot or neck joint
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery pack before inspecting wiring or brush head. Avoid pulling on wires.
- Isolate the fault: If your SEBO cordless allows removing the powered floor head, detach it and run the vacuum in suction-only mode. If E6 disappears, the fault is in the power head or its cable.
- Inspect power head cable: Examine the cable from the main body to the brush head, especially at pivot points. Look for cuts, crushed sections, or exposed copper. Replace the cable harness if damaged.
- Check inside brush head: Open the brush head housing and inspect the wiring to the brush motor. Look for melted insulation, burn marks, or loose connectors.
- Test brush motor (visual): If the brush motor shows signs of overheating (discoloration, burnt smell), it should be replaced rather than reused.
- Motor-only test: With the brush head disconnected, run the vacuum and gradually increase power. If E6 still occurs with no head attached, the suction motor or main PCB is likely drawing excessive current and needs professional diagnosis.
