Possible Causes

Loose battery connector, oxidized low-voltage signal contacts, damaged communication cable to brush head, failed microcontroller on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery before inspecting connectors or cables.

  • Reseat battery: Remove and firmly reinsert the battery until it locks. Slight misalignment can interrupt data communication.
  • Clean contacts: Use a dry, lint-free cloth to wipe the battery and vacuum contacts. If light oxidation is visible, gently rub with a clean pencil eraser, then wipe away residue.
  • Inspect head connector: If your cordless SEBO has electrical contacts at the neck for the power head, inspect them for bent pins or contamination. Clean gently and ensure the head clicks fully into place.
  • Check flex cable: On models with an internal flex cable between body and head, look for kinks or crushed sections. Replace the cable harness if damaged.
  • Firmware/PCB fault: If E9 persists with clean, secure connections and a known-good battery, the main control PCB or brush head PCB may be defective and should be replaced as assemblies.
