Possible Causes

Brushroll jammed with hair or debris, Floor nozzle air channel blocked, Brush motor overheating due to overuse on thick carpet, Worn brushroll end bearings increasing friction

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn the vacuum OFF and remove the battery pack from the Sencor cordless vacuum before any inspection. Never work on the brushroll while the unit is powered.

  • Check for jams: Lay the floor nozzle upside down. Remove the brushroll cover (usually a latch or a few screws). Pull out the main brushroll and cut away hair, threads, and pet fur from the bristles and end caps.
  • Inspect end bearings: Spin the brushroll by hand. If it feels tight, gritty, or does not spin freely, clean the end caps and bearing seats. If melted or cracked, replace the brushroll assembly.
  • Clear air channels: Check the suction channel in the floor nozzle and the connection tube for blockages (toys, paper, gravel). Remove any obstruction.
  • Cool down the motor: Leave the vacuum off with the battery removed for at least 30 minutes to allow the brush motor to cool. Overheated motors can trigger E1.
  • Reassemble and test: Reinstall the brushroll and cover, refit the battery, and test on a hard floor first. If E1 returns immediately with a free-spinning brush, the brush motor may be failing and should be replaced.
