Possible Causes
Blocked cooling vents around motor housing, Overloaded motor from prolonged use on MAX power, Failing main DC motor in the Sencor motor unit, Clogged post-motor filter restricting exhaust airflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum, remove the battery, and allow the unit to cool for at least 30 minutes before touching the motor area.
- Inspect cooling vents: Check all air intake and exhaust vents on the motor unit for lint, dust, or pet hair buildup. Use a soft brush or compressed air to clean them.
- Check filters: Remove and inspect both pre-motor and post-motor filters. If heavily clogged, clean or replace according to the Sencor manual. Never operate the vacuum without filters installed.
- Reduce load: After cooling, test the vacuum on LOW or ECO mode first. Avoid using MAX power continuously for long periods, especially on thick carpets.
- Smell test: If you notice a persistent burnt smell or see discoloration around the motor vents, the main motor windings may be damaged. Continued use can be unsafe.
- When to call a technician: If E3 appears quickly after a full cool-down and with clean filters, the main motor or thermal sensor is likely defective. Replacement of the motor unit or motor assembly is recommended and should be done by a qualified technician.
