Possible Causes
Battery pack temperature too high from recent charging or heavy use, Faulty NTC temperature sensor inside Sencor battery pack, Poor ventilation around charging base, Internal battery cell damage causing overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If the battery feels hot to the touch, disconnect it from the vacuum and charger immediately. Place it on a non-flammable surface away from flammable materials.
- Allow to cool: Let the battery cool at room temperature for at least 1 hour. Do not place it in a refrigerator or freezer.
- Check charging environment: Ensure the Sencor charging base is in a cool, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
- Inspect battery contacts: Look for corrosion or discoloration on the battery and vacuum contacts. Clean gently with a dry cloth.
- Retry operation: After cooling, reinstall the battery and try to start the vacuum. If E5 reappears immediately, the temperature sensor or battery cells may be defective.
- Replace battery pack: Do not attempt to open the battery pack. Replace it with an original Sencor lithium-ion battery pack specified for your model. If the new pack also shows E5, the main control PCB may be misreading temperature and needs professional diagnosis.
