Possible Causes
Internal tilt sensor stuck or damaged, Impact damage to safety microswitch, Loose sensor connector on Sencor PCB, Firmware misreading sensor state
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before shaking or opening the unit.
- Reset orientation: Place the vacuum upright on a flat surface. Remove the battery for 2–3 minutes, then reinstall and try again.
- Gentle tap: If the unit was dropped, a tilt sensor ball may be stuck. Gently tap the side of the handle with your palm to free it (do not hit hard).
- Inspect housing: Check for cracks or misalignment in the handle or body that might be pressing on an internal safety switch.
- Service needed: If E9 persists, the tilt sensor or safety switch assembly inside the Sencor unit likely needs replacement. This requires disassembly and should be done by a qualified technician.
