Possible Causes
Broken drive belt inside nozzle (if belt-driven), stripped gear in brush motor, disconnected nozzle power cable, worn brush roll end caps
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery and detach the motorized floor nozzle before working on it.
- Step 1 – Check brush roll for jams: Remove the brush roll and clear any hair or debris. Ensure it spins freely by hand.
- Step 2 – Inspect drive mechanism: If your Severin nozzle uses a belt, check for a broken or slipped belt. Replace with the correct Severin belt if damaged.
- Step 3 – Verify power to nozzle: Reattach the nozzle and start the vacuum. Gently wiggle the connector between the nozzle and tube. If the brush starts/stops, the connector or cable is faulty.
- Step 4 – Test with another nozzle (if available): If another motorized nozzle works, the original nozzle's internal motor or gears are defective.
- Step 5 – Replace nozzle assembly: Internal gears and motors are usually not serviceable separately. Replace the complete motorized floor nozzle.
