Possible Causes

Blocked floor nozzle, clogged metal suction tube, clogged cyclone dust container, seized motor fan in motor unit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch off the vacuum and remove the battery pack before clearing any blockages. Do not operate the unit with covers removed.

  • Step 1 – Check for blockages: Detach the floor nozzle, metal suction tube, and handheld unit. Look through each section for clogs (dust balls, hair, small toys). Use a long, non-metallic rod or a broom handle to gently push out any obstruction. Do not use sharp objects that could puncture the tube.
  • Step 2 – Empty the dust container: Remove the cyclone dust container from the Severin cordless vacuum. Empty it completely and tap gently to dislodge compacted dust. Check the cyclone cone and air channels for packed debris and clean thoroughly.
  • Step 3 – Clean filters: Remove the pre-motor filter and HEPA exhaust filter (if fitted). Tap them gently over a bin. If they are washable (check the Severin manual), rinse with lukewarm water only and allow to dry completely for at least 24 hours before refitting. Never run the vacuum with wet filters.
  • Step 4 – Inspect the motor inlet: With the dust container removed, inspect the motor inlet grill for lint or hair buildup. Carefully remove any debris with a soft brush.
  • Step 5 – Test again: Reassemble the vacuum, reinstall the battery, and run it on low power first. If E2 no longer appears, the overload was caused by the blockage. If E2 returns immediately with a clean airflow path, the motor or control PCB may be defective and should be checked by a Severin service technician.
