Possible Causes
Debris caught in brushroll housing, Worn or broken brushroll bearings, Damaged internal gears in floor nozzle, Loose brushroll end caps
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum and remove the battery before working on the floor nozzle.
- 1. Remove floor nozzle: Detach the nozzle from the wand and inspect the underside.
- 2. Clear debris: Remove any stones, hard objects, or large debris trapped near the brushroll or wheels.
- 3. Remove and inspect brushroll: Unlock and remove the brushroll(s). Check for cracks, missing bristles, or worn end caps. Spin the brushroll by hand; it should rotate smoothly.
- 4. Listen to gearbox: With the brushroll removed and battery installed, briefly run the nozzle (held safely). If you hear grinding from inside the nozzle, the internal gears or motor are damaged.
- 5. Replace brushroll or nozzle: If only the brushroll is worn, replace it. If the noise comes from the gearbox or motor, replace the entire floor nozzle assembly.
